  1. Fabulous article. Thank you SO much. There is such a mental health crisis in this country. People need to start giving it the serious attention that it warrants. All the addictions and obsessions are just symptoms of a deeper problem.
    As a parent, I know at times I slip and try to hide in the comfort of denial, but my son’s father committed suicide and was clearly mentally ill. I can not afford to ignore that fact. Your very informative and personal article reminded me that I need to remain vigilant, not just now, but for the future generations.
    It is enlightened people like you who have the courage to share their clearly heartbreaking story with optimism and hope that will make a difference for countless others.

    • Charlene, I so appreciate your positive response to the article. As well as your willingness to follow your intuition and keep a close eye on your son, given his father’s history. The key is early intervention if problems develop. You’ll know what to do. Good luck.
